Lets start with the menu board. I found a weekly menu of which was editable in adobe (love the neatness of things typed up!) on Pintrest. They have TONS of different ones from very simple to very colorful and bubblie! I prefer colorful and bubblie! Once you have saved the menu document to your computer, open it up and start planning. My Hubs and I are trying to eat healthier so we picked up the Body-for-Life book and Eating-for-Life cookbook by Bill Phillips. The recipes are really good! Fill in your meals then use a grocery list template, also found on Pinterest (Man, I love me some Pinterest!) and fill it in with all your ingredients. You can make weeks worth of menus and grocery lists, by saving each doc as something else, ex. menu 1, menu 2, etc. print out everything, including your grocery lists, and laminate them. This way you can just use a dry erase marker to mark off things on your list as you go through the store, then wipe it off once you get home and use it again!
The hardest part of this whole project, is actually sitting down and planning out your meals. You can use recipies you find on the net, ones you've used from friends, family, whatever you'd like. I'm not going to sugar coat it.... This takes forever! But I promise it's worth it. Knowing I can go into the grocery store, list in hand, and be able to pick up every ingredient for 7 days worth of meals is AWESOME! I don't know about you, but we've been eating out way to much!
CHORE BOARD! Ok so now for our chore board, or as we call it, our responsibilities. The things on their lists include brushing their teeth, clearing the table, taking vitamins, staying in bed (they've been getting up a lot lately... Whats up with that?), getting dressed, etc. As you can tell, these are things that are part of the things you do everyday. We're trying to teach them that these are not chores, they are things they are responsible for doing even as a grown up. So this is where I started...
I bought the chore magnets here. There are a ton of different ones from ones with just words, to ones with pictures and words. I did pictures and words because Mason can read, but Izzie can't. So it works for both.
Then I put it all together.....
First lay out the scrapbook paper and cut off any excess paper with your exact-o knife. This way to will be the exact size in the corners if the corners are rounded like mine is.
Next tape or glue all the paper down.
Then decide how you want your chore board to look. I went with something very simple. Morning responsibilities, Afternoon responsibilities, and Evening responsibilities. All three have a To Do and Done column. I used little white round stickers (like you use to mark prices at a garage sale) to mark where the magnets go.
Next use your washi take to mark out your columns or rows. Use a ruler to make sure your lines are straight.
Then I used a labeler to mark the columns. You can use scrapbook letters or write them in, it just depends on how you want it to look.
And finally, decorate! I went very simple because, at lease with my little minions, simple is easier and less distracting. I had tried something crazy decorative and I found them more checking out all the stickers that actually doing their stuff.
To attach them to the door I used Command Strips by 3M. I LOVE these things! There are no holes in your walls and they are super easy to remove with no marks on the wall.
And Wallah!....

Happy Organizing!
Snacks Made Easy!
1. Go to Costco, Bjs, or Sams and buy a crazy amount of snacks; Goldfish, fruit snacks, Vanilla Waffers, trail mix, etc.
2. Pick a good movie, plop yourself on the floor with snack ziplocks, and a large storage container.
3. Then, start filling those ziplocks!
4. Now you have a big box, that depending on the amount of kiddos you have, will last a long time. If your running out the door, going to church, or practice, you have the kids grab a ziplock with their snack of choice, and head out the door!
Happy Snacking!
