Rooms & Make-Overs

Well we've finally bought a single family home in Gambrills, Maryland. I'ts been just over a year since we've moved in and we've made BIG changes. We had a flood in our lower level (our family room/daycare area) and we ended up having to gut the entire area to the studs. The bonus was we were able to make our laundry room more functional and add a second full bathroom... all only costing us about $3,000 out of pocket thanks to the insurance... I <3 USAA!

We have also made changes to the backyard by replacing our busted up cement slab, increasing the size of the patio, did some serious trimming up of the yard and of course added some much needed play equipment.

In the interior we have painted every wall (except the upstairs bathroom) so it defiantly feels more like our house, and not a hospital. We got new appliances for the kitchen and laundry room, and took down the ridiculous back splash that was in the kitchen (fake brick) and put up a mosaic glass tile back splash. It looks awesome... now if we could just replace... the cabinets, counter tops, fridge, stove range for a built in microwave, knock out a wall, add more cabinets and counter space... we'd have an awesome kitchen... It's still a work in progress..... to be continued!

I got to use a sledge hammer to help take down the brick wall when we had the basement remodeled from the flood!
